CBN (cubic boron nitride) abrasive structure is generally composed of three parts: working layer, matrix and transition layer.  Working layer, also known as CBN layer, is composed of abrasive, binder and filler, is the working part of the abrasive.  The transition layer, also known as the non-CBN layer, is composed of binder, metal powder and filler, and is the part that firmly connects the CBN layer to the matrix.  The substrate is made of aluminum, steel or bakelite, which supports the working layer and installs the clamping tool.
